Where is the story?

All the top young heroes of Kollywood are facing deep career crisis. They have not shot for the last few weeks and the pressure is mounting on them to start work and there by remain at the top. Vijay has not faced the camera for the last 75 days ever since Aadi was completed, something he has never done for the past 10 years! His Puli got scrapped and Murasu is still in fluid state.
Vikram has not started work on his A.M.Ratnam produced Lingusamy directed Bheema. The actor has been away from the arc lights for the last 125 days! Surya has only Jillendru Oru Kathal for which he is shooting but has not signed any new film. After the super success of Ghajini, actress Asin is sitting at home for the past 150 days. The only film that she has for release is the long delayed Godfather. She is busier with commercials than films these days!
Asked an actor: “Where are the stories? I am not interested in doing the same kind of characters that are done in the past. Audiences have become too smart and they will not accept a film unless there is some new twist in the story and the presentation should be good”. Adds a leading hero: “Isn’t it better to sit at home and spend time with your family than doing mindless films and ending up with egg on your face?”
Suddenly all leading actors have decided to go slow. It looks like Vijay will have only one release this year while Vikram’s Bheema may be his solo release. Asin will have to be contended with only Godfather this year compared to five releases in 2005. Vijay it seems is not happy with the script of Muthuvadigu’s Murasu and has asked him to rewrite it. Meanwhile, the actor has already listened to stories from six directors but is still unhappy.
Vikram’s discussions with director Lingusamy continues while Asin is yet to sign on the dotted line for any new film. Due to lack of new stories top heroes are all taking it easy. They are also plainly refusing to do remakes from other languages as they have all proved to be damp squibs.
